As an experienced photographer, I have been fortunate enough to witness many beautiful and unforgettable moments throughout my career. But I have to say, this wedding proposal in a Chianti Villa was truly one of the most special I have ever had the pleasure of capturing.
From the very first email from Antony, I knew this was going to be a moment for the books. The official reason for this trip to Italy was a vacation planned by this lovely couple from Philadelphia, USA. Among all the Italian destinations the couple has on the itinerary, Antony decided to make a grand gesture and propose to his girlfriend Mariana at the stunning Relais Villa Olmo in Tuscany, with a sparkling ring in hand.
Relais Villa Olmo in Impruneta is a dreamy location, perfect for romantic honeymoons or intimate wedding celebrations. The villa, dating back to the 18th century, is surrounded by the beautiful Tuscan landscape, creating a unique and enchanting atmosphere. With its 14 elegantly decorated rooms and suites, each with its unique charm, guests can enjoy luxurious amenities like a large outdoor swimming pool, a wellness center with a sauna and steam room, and a gourmet restaurant serving delicious Tuscan cuisine. It’s a photographer’s paradise, with endless breathtaking landscapes and historical landmarks to capture.
The terrace at Relais Villa Olmo was the perfect spot for the proposal, with its stunning views of the hills and the pool. Antony got down on one knee, and Mariana was over the moon with excitement and disbelief. After the proposal, the newly engaged couple followed me around the grounds to capture this special moment and, why not, to scout out potential locations for their future wedding in Italy. Ahahah, that’s not true. However, they both have Italian ancestry, so a wedding in Italy cannot be ruled out at all.
Overall, it was a magical hour spent together, getting to know each other better and soaking up the enchanting environment of this amazing place. I can’t wait to see what the future holds for this wonderful couple!
