Cortina d’Ampezzo is one of the best known and sought after locations in Italy. Most Italian celebrities gather here during Christmas holidays, to enjoy the first snow in the shadow of the Alps. Many of them choose the Hotel Cristallo, a famous five-star resort, to spend some days in this enchanting mountain location. This is where, together with a fabulous staff, I realised this styled wedding shoot. But let’s take a step back.
Cortina d’Ampezzo is located in the Dolomites, a charming and picturesque mountain range in northern Italy. Rich in snow and ski facilities in the winter, it was the location of the 1960 winter Olympics. Since then, it is still the undisputed queen of the Italian Alps. The old village is full of boutiques and exclusive restaurants.
Hotel Cristallo is its flagship. It guarantees a unique ambience and a dreamlike atmosphere. There could be no better venue for fairytale marriages in winter. In the room of the stove was set the wedding table, full of flowers and candles. The chef prepared some recipes, coordinated with the set-up. The images only partially render the dreamlike mood that had been created!
Part of the photo shoot took place on the terrace with views, and on the snowy slopes in the area. The bride also posed for a few portraits in the luxurious interiors of the hotel. It was a joy and an honour to photograph her in such a bright environment. Heartfelt thanks go to all those who took part in this great adventure!
