As I drive along the deserted roads that lead from Siena to Castello di Casole, I cannot help but fall in love with the surrounding scenery. Nature here is still completely untouched: fields in bloom and rows of cypress trees have been for centuries the guardians of the Senese Chianti area. The San Galgano Abbey is the only attraction in the neighbourhood, visited by thousands of tourists every year.
Not far away, Castello di Casole rises regally on a hill. It’s an ancient Tuscan village, expertly restored by an American property that rents rooms and luxury villas to those who wish to spend a few days in this paradise. Thanks to this, I’ve been hired to portray this American family. Two generations of people decided to spend their holidays in Italy. There’s nothing as delightful as being pictured with your loved ones in the most attractive spots of Tuscany.
It was a joy to photograph them as they walked on the tiny white roads surrounded by cypress trees. Or around the amphitheatre, with the beautiful Chianti landscape and the pool behind them. When it comes to pictures, whether they’re for a wedding or an engagement session, the Castello di Casole provides photographers with everything they need. If the surrounding scenery is not enough, the castle presents numerous spots for couple’s shots and individual portraits. The sun was high and the climate perfect. After the pictures of the entire family, I portrayed the couples, starting from the sons to their classy parents. It’s not easy to be on the other end of the lens, and it took a few minutes for my subjects to relax. I’d say, however, that it was worth it! I greeted this gorgeous family just before sunset, while the sun was hiding behind the hills. See you soon Castello di Casole.
