When in recent years I have abandoned photojournalism to become an editorial photographer in Italy, the difference between these two styles was little known. To be honest, there is no exact definition of editorial photography. Editorials photographers use to represent a story to embellish a specific theme visually. In fashion as in weddings, the beauty and consistency of images come first, even before the chronological storytelling of the event. And so what’s the difference between an editorial photographer and a wedding photojournalist? Photojournalists document events with photographs that capture the moment, leaving beauty itself in the background in favour of accurate documentation.
