The first photo shoot of the year is one of the trickiest. You need to shake off the toxins of a winter spent at the computer, tanned by the monitor, and get your camera and best lenses back on. So, if on the one hand the first couple of the year is always the most awaited, on the other it is necessary to pay attention. The movements are no longer those of the previous year; it takes a moment of practice to come back to the rhythm. However, thanks to this lovely couple from the US, I didn’t have to think about it too much. Once left the cold New York winter a few days earlier, these lovebirds couldn’t wait to spend some time where they had studied and met each other a few years before. So, I led them on a photo tour through the beauties of Florence, taking casual portraits along the path. It wasn’t so difficult; Alexandra is of rare beauty! Her groom-to-be Alec can only look at her proud to be about to marry such a pretty woman.
Moreover, Florence is so lovely in spring! The purple wisteria peeps through the majestic facades of the palazzos, and the warm light of the afternoon envelops the most important monuments and piazzas giving tons of perfect backgrounds for stunning portraits. Piazzale Michelangelo, Ponte Vecchio, Uffizi and San Nicolò were some of the most picturesque locations of this engagement session in Florence. As soon as it got dark, they got changed and wore more comfortable outfits for some night shots. Without heels and with light clothes, I could take some casual photos during a stroll through the centre. I greeted them shortly after, happy to have brought home a wonderful photo shoot.
