Working as a wedding photographer in Tuscany, beautiful surprises are a daily occurrence. Especially with the venues: from Carrara to Siena and the Val d’Orcia, there are hundreds of beautiful places ready to make any dream come true, providing an unforgettable day to lovers from all around the world – look at our blog to discover many great venues! The climate makes everything much easier and permits to organise alfresco Tuscan weddings without worrying too much about the bad weather – rains and showers are rare in summer, and the evenings are cool and airy. If you add the excellent food and delicious Italian wines, you have the perfect recipe for an unforgettable event.
That’s what happened to these lovers from New York. Born and raised in Italy, the groom wanted to exchange vows and rings in the country house of his family, I Pilastri in Fosdinovo — a lovely place, overlooking the sea, surrounded by lush vineyards and immersed in the silence. The countryside of northern Tuscany is rich in fabulous ancient villas and, although the area is very little-known, you can reach the beaches in less 10 minutes. A unique feature that many guests really enjoyed!
Moreover, the bride and groom welcomed their guests with a dinner alfresco in Portofino the night before, after a boat trip at sunset. Really a weekend full of events and lots of love!
The civil ceremony took place on the terrace overlooking the hills. Shortly after the guests enjoyed a fabulous aperitif by the pool, based on colourful cocktails and canapes. And while I was taking the wedding photos of the newlyweds in the surrounding countryside, the guests have sat down for dinner on the lawn. Lit by dozens of candles and chains of lights, the wedding planner Alessia Santa had set up long wooden tables with centrepieces of olive leaves and fresh flowers provided by FlowersLiving. Because of this lovely setting, it was tough to get up once the dinner was over. The scenery, the excellent wine and the evening breeze after a long hot day has kept newlyweds and guests there for a long time, among toasts and speeches.
After the cake show by the pool, the bride and groom danced for the first time as husband and wife, and then went wild with their friends on the dancefloor. If you’ve always dreamed of an alfresco Tuscan wedding with a view, maybe you should get inspired by these newlyweds. Looking at their wedding photos below, it seems they had a lot of fun!
